This is a portrait shot of Nico Vink which I took with my Canon AT1 back in June of last year. Nico was suffering from a wicked crash he'd had during the World Cup in Austria. He'd been dizzy and had this terrible headache all the way back from Austria to The Netherlands.. One of the raddest downhill riders you'll have ever seen. No kidding, ask any World Cup rider, they'll mention this kid's name and tell they want to ride like him. One helluva ripper dude.

Famous downhill mountainbike snapper Sven Martin tipped me about a little trick to use out there in the Austrian boonies. I was standing on a bridge above the track, about 100 meters away from where the riders came out of the woods, heading for the jump. Sven told me to hold the big 300mm white Canon lens in the air, when I would spot a rider coming out of the wood section. They will see the huge lens sticking into the air most of the time and thus know right away that they'll have to get a little airtime for the photographer... Well if Brandon "whip master" Fairclough comes hauling ass down the track, it's not really a problem to get an awesome shot.....

Suffering from a wicked crash near Chamonix/Mont Blanc in the French Alps.. My Leatt neckbrace worked as advertised when I landed on my head after flying of my bike and doing a spread eagle combined with a nice flip into the dirt about 30 feet down the mountain.........

Busy weekends coming up...

This upcoming weekend I'll be attending the Motocross Grand Prix of Valkenswaard.. Yep, right here in The Netherlands! The week after the Mountainbike World Cup season kicks off in Houffalize, Belgium. The first round of 4X is gonna be a good one.. Here you see Anneke Beerten taking the first corner of the Houffalize course in 2009.. Can she defend her world cup title in 2010....?

Here we go.. First post on the new blogger. Unfortunately I couldn't get it right with importing my old blog on here, but it's still there to check out. Click here, or find it in the links section.
